ORAL SEDATION

Excellence in dentistry with optimum care.

Dr. Sarna and the Dentistry on 7th team can offer different sedation options to help patients with dental anxiety.

The different forms of sedation offered include Nitrous oxide (laughing gas), Oral Sedation and General Anesthesia. Choosing from these options is determined by the level of your anxiety, length and type of procedure.

Nitrous Oxide is an immediately reversible option with little to no side effects, this is perfect for those with little to moderate levels of anxiety and incurring minor dental procedures such as cleaning and fillings. A perfect option for kids as well!

Oral Moderate Sedation is for individuals undergoing root canals, longer procedures and surgeries. Patients who have moderate to high levels of dental anxiety. A little blue pill is given 1(one) hour prior to start of procedure, although many clients will fall asleep, this is not the aim. Most individuals will not remember the appointment.

General Anesthesia is performed by an anesthesiologist and the individual will sleep through the entire procedure. This is for those with high levels of anxiety and undergoing lengthy dental procedures. We try and complete an individual’s entire treatment plan in one appointment.

Our goal  is to help our patients feel completely relaxed and calm while they are in the office, as we believe that your dental visit should be a restorative time for mind, body, and soul. If you are not comfortable during treatment, talk to us about ways we can help you relax.
